Mr. George Glass
President, CIMA

George is finance director of the UCM Timber Group, the UK’s leading independent timber importers and agents. A graduate mechanical engineer, he went on to train as a management accountant and worked as deputy chief accountant in Reed International's largest UK paper mill before progressing to senior IT director roles at both Butterworth Publishing and Haymarket Publishing. George was co opted to CIMA council in 2000, and served on the technical committee, which he later chaired. More recently, he chaired the lifelong learning policy committee and the project board overseeing the revision of CIMA's syllabus. He was on the IT committee of IFAC from 1998 until its winding up in 2002. As well as coordinating UK responses to international IT initiatives, he held overall responsibility for IFAC's publication 'A Director’s Guide to the Evaluation and Selection of IT Projects'.

 

 

Rod Hill

Past National President, CIMA

Rod is a Past National President of CIMA with a strong Financial and Commercial background having had a career in both the public and private sectors. Managing Director of Liverpool John Lennon Airport for over 10 years, Rod is also commited to the development of Young People and is currently a Member of the Governing Board Of Liverpool John Moores University.


Peter Mileham

Peter was born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire and educated locally at York and Hull Technical Colleges. Commencing his working life in the construction industry, Peter has over thirty years experience in business and has specialist knowledge of marketing, public relations and international trade. A former Director of Liquid Plastics Ltd of Preston and Regional Chairman for the North West of the Yorkshire Bank plc Peter was elected Deputy Lieutenant of Lancashire in 2004.

Dr. Gordon Hush, MA (Hons)
Head of Product Design, Glasgow School of Art

Gordon Hush was appointed Head of Product Design at Glasgow’s School of Art in February 2006. The Glasgow School of Art is internationally recognised as one of Europe's foremost university-level institutions for creative education and research. It is located in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, and is one of the few remaining independent art schools in the UK, boasting an internationally community of over 1900 students. Prior to his appointment as Head of Product Design he had been a lecturer in the Historical & Studies Department since 1998. He studied sociology at the University of Glasgow and has continued in these studies gaining PhD level.

Prof. Adrian Pitts 
Professor of Sustainable Architecture, Sheffield Hallam University

Adrian Pitts is Professor of Sustainable Architecture at Sheffield Hallam University and takes the role of Head of Research for the Architecture Subject Group. His academic interests link together the important topics of energy, environment and sustainability in the context of architecture, planning and the built environment. His influence in these areas draws together both research and teaching and has a focus on excellence in environmental design quality. Adrian's specific research interests include: profitable sustainability; comfort; air movement and air quality in buildings; the integration of renewable energy systems into buildings; design for warm climates; and sustainability and Olympic design.


 
Mr. Andy Ford
Fulcrum technical director for buildings and infrastructure, Mott MacDonalds

Andy Ford is the Fulcrum technical director for buildings and infrastructure at Mott MacDonalds and President Elect of the Chartered Institution of Buildings Services Engineers (CIBSE).  Andy has worked extensively on innovative buildings throughout his career and contributed to many award winning designs. His speciality lies within creative and sustainable low energy design solutions. In recent years his work has taken a more specific focus in how the industry can respond to the challenge of climate change.  In addition to his CIBSE appointment, Andy is currently chair of the UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) policy committee. He also serves on the managing boards of these organisations.
