LONDON, EASTERN AND SOUTH EAST REGIONAL FINALS 2011
Nightingale Academy, London. Concept: 'SafeSide: an app that you can download for every smart phone and some regular mobile phones. The app works by setting off an extremely loud alarm when you press a specific button. If you are in a tricky situation, such as: Burglary, assault or any other incident. The alarm will go off and alert everybody around you, so you can get help quickly without getting hurt.
The Plume School, Eastern. Concept: A device called 'One Click' which allows the holder of the device to have the ability to stay safe when outside, due to a button which sends a 'distress signal' to the police and also all of your contacts on your mobile phone list. The device is totally customisable online on our web app, which is in development.
The Towers School and Sixth Form, South East. Concept: A product which is an alcohol protection ring. It detects the levels of alcohol in the body by measuring the amount of sweat released. It will minimize the rates of binge drinking and drink driving.

Barnwood Park Arts College, South West. Concept: A 'safety-ometer' which helps the deaf and the blind. The device includes brail for the blind. It lights up so it enables you to see in the dark, it helps attract attention to you. The vibration is there to help the deaf, this means if it vibrates someone has received your alert or someone has received your alert. The device is small so only you know where it is. The device is efficient and durable, it is water proof and environmentally friendly!
Ercall Wood Technology College, West Midlands. Concept: A product is a band which buzzes/vibrates when you are over the legal limit for alcohol when driving. It's affordable and has an alarm + GPS that you can activate for a (rape, assault, etc.)
Beauchamp College, West Midlands. Concept: 'Case Safe' is a mobile phone case, that ensures safety. There's a panic switch, which sends the message to parents phone. It has a GPS stored inside, so parents know there children's location. It allows parents to take further action if needed. It uses natural resources therefore eco-friendly.

The Venerable Bede Church of England School, North East. Concept: A protective product. It is disc that is inserted into your computer, it has a downloadable software system which allows you to track cyber bullying on your social networking sites e.g. Facebook. It also contains information about how to stop cyber bullying and who to go to when you're involved in anything to do with bullying.
Sale High School, North West. Concept: Our Product is 'Holo'. It is a clip you can attach to yourself and it will project a holographic image of other people around yourself to protect against young people being vulnerable.
Salendine Nook High School, Yorkshire. Concept: Our product is a phone case which has GPS, Battery pack, Finger print recognition, Rape alarm, Extra memory, Many designs, colours and phone case makes, Signal boost, Text commands (lock phone, delete memory, locate phone and crush phone, is disguised as normal case, made of silicon and is water proof, durable, shock resistant and flexible.

The Plume School, Eastern. Concept: Created a Boot which looks like a normal Boot but has hidden and secret nano-technology which can detects mines within a radius of up to 30meters, which scans every 5seconds.
Greig City Academy, London. Concept: A car and roadside bomb detector, which works through utilisation of a magnet named Neodymium, while filtering radiation. It also has a reciever that recieves GPS, mobile communications and tracing systems.
Camden School for Girls, London. Concept: Cool packs for the use of bomb disposal experts- they allow soldiers to keep cool when they are on the move to prevent overheating.

Barnwood Park Arts College, South West. Concept: Solar and Thermal Powered Goggles that detect radiation supplied alongside a discrete Earpiece which sends out alert signals to warn of potential danger.
North Bromsgrove High School, West Midlands. Concept: A lightweight Bulletproof suit that also acts as a coolant to the body.
Oldbury College of Sport, West Midlands. Concept: A lightweight Bulletproof suit that also acts as a coolant to the body Span 120 is a laser bomb detector, which comes equipped with an EPD (Electronic Paper Display) Screen, which can show the exact location of any bombs within the area that the device.
Pensby High School for Girls, North West. Concept: A Protective suit of armour used to protect the soldier from getting wounded in the neck, shoulders and upper body.
Our Lady's High School, North West. Concept: The Aircraft Ventilation System filter the minus 40 degrees air at altitude through the engine and exhaust which reduces their temperature removing thermal hotspots that can be traced by enemy missiles.
Hameldon Community College, North West. Concept: Iron Man Bomb Detector- a fast, simple to use detector which quickly and accurately identifies any roadside or closely situated bombs,

Sacred Heart High School, North East. Concept: A bulletproof, light-weight, detachable neck protector for added safety and flexibility which is able to connect to a bulletproof jacket.
Churchill Community College, North East. Concept: A shield with built in tracking device, GPRS system and Bluetooth ear-piece.
Salendine Nook High School, Yorkshire. Concept: A bomb detector and defuser which can be worn as a wrist piece, and couples up as a pulse detector and communications device.

St Anne's Catholic High School, Southampton, South East. Concept: A fire alarm with advance safety techniques and new ideas. Affective and affordable, a product that will alert you through your mobile phone if there is a danger of fire while you are away.
Plashet School, East Ham, London. Concept: A device which detects any fire, gas leaks or electrical problems. When the device detects a problem it will automatically shut down all sources.
Toynbee School, Chandlers Ford, South East. Concept: A wireless plug for homes. Nearly one third of all electrical fires are caused by wires so removing wires removes the risk of fire.

St Thomas More Catholic School, Bilston, West Midlands. Concept: 'Fire Fighter in a bag with everything to prevent fire.
Oldbury College of Sport, Oldbury, West Midlands. Concept: The Master Sensor. Includes smoke, light and heat detectors, as well as a mains cut off switch.
Beauchamp College, Leicester, East Midlands. Concept: A device fitted onto hair straightners with sensors which turn the straightner on and off. The team found a gap in the market for a device to prevent straightners from overheating and setting fire to soft furnishings.
Bacup and Rawtenstall School, Lancashire: A small device, fitted to the fuse box that will turn certain appliances off at night, reducing the amount of power circulating the house and therefore reducing the risk of fire.
Malbank School and Sixth Form College, Nantwich, Cheshire: A flame retardant spray to be sprayed on house hold items. All the consumer has to do is spray the atomized fire resistant spray on solid house hold objects.
Eaton Bank School, Congleton, Cheshire. Concept: 'Power surge management' helps to prevent accidental fires from sparks and over-heating or dangerous appliances. The product is to be launched in all countries within the European Union which gives us a wide market, perfect for the launch of a new product.

Salendine Nook High School, Huddersfield, Yorkshire. Concept: FM200 is trapped between two layers of plastic and when fire touches the plastic it melts and FM200 is released which puts the fire out immediately.
Boldon School, Boldon, North East. Concept: 'Alert Everyone' is a device which alerts mobile communication devices connected to a network when there is a danger of fire.
Sacred Heart High School, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, North East. Concept: An electrical device used to detect fire hazards in the home. A product which is more reliable than a general fire alarm as it pre-warns you of the possibility of a fire, helping you to protect and prevent danger to lives and to your home.
