Teachers' Appraisal of LionHeart's Fit with Key Government Strategies:

During our Evaluation Process, we asked EVERY teacher that participated in The LionHeart Continuum Challenge in the 2009/10 Academic Year whether they felt, in their view, that The LionHeart Challenge Continuum Programme addressed the current EDUCATION & KEY CURRICULAR AGENDAs, and their response couldn't have been any more affirmative with 100% answering 'yes'!

These same teachers were then also asked to comment on whether they felt The LionHeart Challenge addressed Specific Governmental Agenda's such as Every Child Matters; Economic and Financial Capability; Personal Learning and Thinking Skills; Functional Skills (statutory) and Curricular Cross Cutting Themes with the results shown in the Evaluation below:

"This has been an excellent opportunity for our students to experience 'life outside school' at an important time in their school careers. It is exciting to see how they can apply skills learnt in school as well as outside of school into such innovative and original business ideas."

"An excellent day. Thank you very much! The team was very organized, friendly and efficient in providing us with a very productive enjoyable and education experience. Qualities never see before' came out of some of our less confident students!"

Mr. Paul Robinson, Assistant Head Teacher, Mount Carmel RC High School

"A very positive experience that kept 200 Year 10 students engaged for a full day and really got them involved in the type of decision making they will undoubtedly be required to do when they progress to life after education."

Mr. Phil Leech, Citizenship Co-ordinator, Beauchamp College

"It was amazing to hear presentations from students who usually do not feel confident to speak in a classroom environment. A wonderful chance for students to show their hidden talents. Overall, great programme will link further PSHE lessons."

Ms. Diane Smith, Head of RE + Citizenship/ PSHE, Whitefield School

"As a governor I felt the LionHeart Challenge today was a great way to show me how our students excel in positive ways outside normal curriculum tasks. I found the LionHeart Team inspiring and very helpful to my understanding of the project."
