ABOUT CIMA
CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, is an
internationally recognised professional body that supports over 164,000
students and members in 161 countries, and is the only accountancy body
that focuses primarily on business needs, working with some of the world’s
leading employers to educate, qualify and support first-class Financial
Managers. A key focus of CIMA is the education and training of Management
Accountants who work in all business sectors evaluating and interpreting
financial information, in order to make strategic decisions about the future
direction of a Business. The key management, decision- making, strategic
and analytical skills acquired through doing CIMA, provides many career
options throughout an organisation, and as a Management Accountant you
will be an important member of the Management Team. You will be highly
valued and rewarded and could eventually end up in a Finance Director,
Managing Director or Chief Executive position.
ENTRY TO THE QUALIFICATION
The CIMA Qualification can be entered at any stage in your career, either after
School or College or after University. All you need is a desire to succeed in
business and have reached a good standard in Mathematics and English
before you commence.
If you are considering entering the work force straight after school or college,
you can enter via the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting which is a
recognised qualification in its own right, or it can be a stepping stone to the
CIMA Professional Qualification.
Should you decide to go on to Higher Education, you can enter the CIMA
Qualification after studying at university and may gain exemptions.
